They are our best egg producing duck, crossed from various breeds to compete with the Khaki Campbell. They lay more and larger eggs than the Khaki Campbell and are calmer. The Golden 300 are all temperature adaptive and good foragers. They have great fertility and make fair mothers. As adults, the female can range in color from a light brown to a dark brown. The males can look similar to a Rouen or a dull looking Cayuga. This breed is domestic meaning it cannot fly. All our ducks make great pets except the Mallard.

Golden 300 Ducks for Sale
The Golden 300 Duck is our top egg-producing duck breed, specifically developed by crossing multiple high-performance lines to outperform the Khaki Campbell. First bred in California in 1996, this hybrid duck was designed for maximum egg production, calm temperament, and adaptability, making it an outstanding choice for backyard flocks, homesteads, and small farms.
Golden 300 ducks consistently lay more eggs—and larger eggs—than Khaki Campbells, producing an impressive 200 to 290 large white or pale blue eggs per year. Their steady laying cycle and excellent fertility make them ideal for keepers focused on egg yield and reliability.
In addition to productivity, Golden 300 ducks are known for being calmer and easier to manage than many other high-production breeds. They adapt well to all climates, perform exceptionally as active foragers, and help reduce feed costs when allowed to free range. While not strongly broody, they make fair and capable mothers when raising young.
Appearance varies naturally within the breed. Females range from light to dark brown, while males may resemble a Rouen or a muted Cayuga, giving the flock visual diversity. As a fully domestic breed, Golden 300 ducks cannot fly, making them easy to contain and manage.
Like all of our ducks, Golden 300s are friendly and suitable as pet ducks, with the exception of Mallards. Although not APA certified due to their hybrid status, they remain one of the most productive and practical egg-laying ducks available today.
